Michigan's Environmental Cleanup Program

On January 18, 2012, WMAWMA will kick off the New Year with a luncheon presentation by the Acting Chief of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality's Remediation Division, Ms. Anne Couture.  Ms. Couture will describe the Divisions' efforts to reinvent the state's environmental cleanup program, including the following topics:
  • The Collaborative Stakeholders Initiative including:
  • Groundwater Surface Water Interface
  • Vapor Intrusion
  • Free Product Recovery; Source Removal and Control; C-Sat
  • Due Care
  • Cleanup Criteria
  • Part 201 Rules
  • Brownfield Redevelopment
  • Coordination of Part 201 and Part 213
  • Status of NFA's and Response Activity Plans received by the Remediation Division
  • Status of Discussions between the SBA and the DEQ regarding impact of changes to Part 201
